Russia whines about 'cowardly' Canada
Last night, Russian hockey stars were being … well … Russian about their loss.
“We wanted to play as well as we could, but things turned out … you know the rest yourselves … like always,” Alexander Ovechkin told Sport Express.
Pravda notes that Ovechkin’s queer phrasing is a takeoff on a famed political quote, the “like always” used popularly to lament Russia’s frequent sporting letdowns. In that, at least, Toronto and our Russian friends have some common ground.
